For as long as there has been Life under the Sun, the Sun's cycles have directed the course of Life. People have been celebrating the spokes in this wheel of Life ever since...

It's a matter of spacetime: Spring up, Fall down,
to the rhythm of the Hoop.

The Hoop is Round.
The cycle of Life is completed once more during Sundown on this special moment in Time and Space when the Moon has no face and the concentrated Seed of Life turns to the Earth's nutritious, murky, dark womb, to regenerate.
Tranceforming the black earth to bloom in all colours on Belthane.

The ancient Celts started their new year with dark moon on this turning point in time.

They called it SAMHAIN.

Summer's end.

The Aztec's Day of the Dead.

The start of the dark half of the Hoop.

Now mostly known as Halloween after the church baptised it All-Saints, or All Halo's Eve one thousand years ago.

In this dark, moonless night the veil is lifted between this material world, and the Otherworld, allowing spirits, aliens, elves, fairies and other supernatural entities to pass between the worlds and socialize with humans.

This dark beginning seems a moment made for dark psytrance.

At 23:00 we open the Ceremony and begin our Journey...

We Light the Fire and Stir the Soup of Plenty in this Cosmic Cauldron of Tranceformation.
As above, so below.
Materia Prima, Unio Chymica.
Materia Prima, Unio Mystica.
Connecting to the pulsating rhythmic vibrations until All Elements are joined to form a New Order under the Sun.
Then we let it simmer till Sundown.

We welcome you to come stare into the Fire and share some Psychai (inside the tipi brought by Mixsikh of the Golden Temple, who made some pumpkinsoup in the Cauldron offered by Psy Froggy, cooked on wood from the winter woodstock from the Other side of the River, offered by our neighbour, who's late husband sawed it, transported to the Funny Farm by Arie the farmer).

- Mixsikh of the Golden Temple will resonate some mantra's and play some looney tunes from distant times and spaces.

Route Description:

Best tip: With bike and public tranceport: You can take your bike in the metro 51 and then get out at Oranjebaan and cycle to the Funny Farm in 20 minutes.
Without bike by public transport: Take tram 5, or metro 51 from central station to Amstelveen, get out at Oranjebaan and walk for 50 min.
or: take the red bus number 300 from Bijlmer station (amsterdam zuid-oost) and get out in the village Ouderkerk aan de Amstel and then walk to the farm (40 min)

By bike or car all the way: Follow the Amstel river to the south until you see the sign "Ouderkerk aan de Amstel", then cross the river to the left over the bridge.
After the bridge turn right into the village. Go straight until the cafe. Turn right at cafe.

Important : Cross little bridge between the two big churches! (or else you take the Hoop the wrong way and add 17 km to your Quest)

Then follow signs "Rondehoep West" until you reach number 49

SAMHAIN HISTORY

Jack O'Lantern tricked the devil by luring him up an apple tree, then carved a cross on the trunk so the devil could'nt escape untill he promised Jack he would never send him to hell.
After living a life of Freedom and Joy he died, could'nt go to hell, but God sure did'nt let him in after the life he had! So where to go? He thought to himself, when the devil, just to tease him, threw him an everglowing ember from hell. He carved out his favorite root, and put in the everglowing ember from hell and found his Own Way ever since.

Cailleach, the old three faced Mother of All stirs her magic wand in the Cosmic Cauldron of Life and Rebirth. This magic pot holds infinity's primal soup of Plenty and never emptied.
Creating, destroying and constantly transforming and renewing Life.
She washes her plaid in this Cauldron during fall, untill it is crispy white and ready to be laid out over the world in winter. even dead hero's end up in it and are made whole by it in the Otherworld.

This night was considered the perfect time for divination and fortune telling.

As a ritual for purification people would walk between two bonfires, or dance around one to please the spirits.

The children would be protected from evil spirits by disguising as one to blend in.

To spare the house another year, the harvest would be shared with these spirits, and offered to them, and the disguised children posing as these spirits.

For more protection a devil's face can be carved out of a root or pumpkin and hung outside, to scare evil spirits away, while the light inside serves to guide loved spirits home.

august 30 Ayahuaska ritual on the Funny Farm

This ritual will be held inside a tipi on the green pastures of the round hoop.

The ceremony will be guided by a shaman from Brazil: Leonardo de Siqueira Calvalcanti.
He used to be connected with the Santo Daime Church, but now follows his own program. The ritual is a combination of Christian church inspired Santo Daime, mixed with traditional jungle style. This,
together with Akal Sahej, alias Michael of the Golden Temple who will resonate some kundalini mantra's from India.

Taking 21-12-2012 as point zero, then counting back, using the
fibonacci sequence, and found the dates of the last 15 steps in
evolution!!! Evolution has been taking fibonacci steps from day one,
so every next evolutionary step comes sooner, in golden mean ratio,
that's why it feels like time is going faster and faster all the time.
We will celebrate the first upcomming date 08-08-08 (!!!) at the Funny Farm.

Valt het je ook op dat de tijd steeds sneller gaat?
Dat schijnt te komen doordat de evolutie zich steeds sneller voltrekt.
Terrence McKenna en ook Ian Xel Lungold leggen uit hoe de evolutie
langzaam begon en steeds sneller verloopt in 'gulden snede' stappen.
Ik kwam, samen met een vriendinnetje op het idee om de datum

21-12-2012, wanneer de aarde, de zon en het middelpunt van het

universum in een lijn staan, als nulpunt te nemen. Deze datum namen
ook de maya's als einddatum voor hun kalender.
Door die datum als nulpunt te nemen en dan volgens de fibonacci reeks
terugtellend hebben we de laatste 15 stappen van de evolutie
gepinpoint!!!

How to get to the Funny Farm:

By public transport:
-Take tram 5 from central station to amstelveen,
get out at end point.
-Walk to the big busstation from Amstelveen (5 min).
-take bus 149 to Uithoorn, get out at the ferry ("de Fuut") on the Amstel river and take that ferry to the other side and walk 3 more minutes to the farm at number 49 (right across cafe 'de Zwarte Kat').

Ferry only works from 12:00 untill 17:45
If you want to come at another time it's better to take the red bus number 300 from Bijlmer station (amsterdam zuid-oost) and get out in the village Ouderkerk aan de Amstel and then walk to the farm (40 min)
or:
take tram 5 or metro 51 from Amsterdam C.S. to Amstelveen, get out at Oranjebaan.
Walk to the village Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, then on to the farm (40 min.)

Tip: You can take your bike into the metro and then cycle from Oranjebaan to the farm (20 min.)


By Bike:
Follow the Amstel river to the south until you see the sign "Ouderkerk aan de Amstel",
then cross the river to the left over the bridge.
